Hendrick Health
Expanding Access.
Extending Our Mission.
Our Mission is to deliver high quality healthcare emphasizing excellence and compassion consistent with the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
For nearly a century, Hendrick Health has been committed to meeting the healthcare needs of the Texas Midwest.
In 2019, the Texas legislature recognized rural hospitals have been hit especially hard by the changing health care landscape. To protect access to care and overcome these significant challenges, the Texas’ 2019 Certificate of Public Advantage (COPA) legislation paved the way for rural hospitals to work together and combine resources to tackle the critical health issues facing their communities.
It is within this framework that Hendrick Health acquired Abilene Regional Medical Center, now Hendrick Medical Center South (HMCS). At the same time, Hendrick Health also announced its intention to acquire Brownwood Regional Medical Center, now Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood (HMCB). The acquisition was completed October 27, 2020. Since then, Hendrick Health’s Board of Trustees, administration, leadership, employees, physicians and volunteers have been working diligently to align our cultures and strengths. Through the combining of our resources, we intend to better coordinate services, increase efficiencies and optimize patient care to benefit the healthcare needs of the public.
